Ms. Carolyn Benzon, General Counsel

Carolyn Benzon is the General Counsel for the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. She has been with DDSN since January 2022. Prior to moving to South Carolina, Ms. Benzon earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, a Master of Science in Political Science – Professional Politics, and a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts. While in Boston, she worked for the Massachusetts State Legislature as a Research Analyst for the Joint Committee on Education. Ms. Benzon previously worked in private practice, but left to make a difference in the lives of South Carolinians with disabilities.
